get your pooch a flea and tick collar. You can buy that in the grocery or some pet shops. Just a precaution, make sure your pooch is unable to reach it (like licking or biting) to avoid any mishaps. The collar is medicated kc. Disinfect your dog's area also including the walls. You can ask your vet for a stronger medicated bath and ask the vet to teach you how to kill the ticks. Kc if its just the tiris method, may eggs ata dun sa blood nila, you need to kill that too. Some i think burn those parasites. Hope this helps and good luck!

Azazeal sorry ha, but this is just based on my experience on flea and tick collar. I used it before on my golden ret, but the scent was too strong for me. I think my dog felt the same way because she lost her appetite. I removed it after 3 days and thankfully her appetite was back to normal. The fleas and ticks were still there. I don't know if it's because of the short usage or its just not effective. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's an advice from a good friend of mine who owns K9 dogs.. Use Lori's Soap then after 2 days spray on frontline. Azazeal is right, never use "tiris" method, my vet said there are a lot of eggs in the blood! EEEKKSS! We pluck them out and place them in a bottle with gaas. Hehehe, we're saddists!

thanks boofoo, azazeal and kachu!

i was able to find frontline and so far, i see less and less fleas from my dogs. i must say i was thinking the same thing with the tiris method. because me and my dad always pluck out those pests and make tiris yet they never seem to end.

we had our dog area completely washed, pati walls. first with very hot water (nagpakulo pa ko ng water using charcoal, kasi mahal na LPG hehehe) then normal temp water with super daming chlorine. mejo nababawasan naman na ngayon.

salamat salamat sa inyong tatlo!

ticks and fleas are a common problem when you have pets...  especailly pag summer and rainy season (hehehe!  that's like the whole year sa atin :) )  prevention is the key...  i'm glad your pet has less ticks and fleas na ngayun... i've tried frontline, effective yun :)

Frontline definitely! It kills existing ticks and fleas (including the eggs)within 24 hours of application and keeps them at bay for one month. I've been giving it to my puppy every month since the day I brought him home and thankfully it's effective and does not affect the coat.
