Its a good exercise to take your pet for a walk even just for half an hour, its good if he's/she's not pulling the leash...Boofoo's been doing that but I'm tryin to train him not to. Here's how:

Get a choke chain collar( not to choke him/her it is intended to correct your pet, if he/she is choking then get a diff collar), 15 ft leash or longer if you like, and a treat (wonder why they call it choke chain)

Take your dog outside keep him on your left side start taking two steps if he's still on ur side praise him ask him to sit and give a treat. Go on for another three steps so on.

Now the problem is ur not taking a step yet and he's pulling the leash...go on a different direction, tendecy is he'll folllow u, once ur pet is on ur side praise and give him a treat, take another step.. if he/she is still pulling go on a diff direction...

If this is not working for ur pet, everytime he/she pulls the leash correct him by a quick jerk and release on the leash.

Your pet will soon get it...

Have faith that ur pet can do it otherwise he can't remember that your pet should be on ur side or behind you but not in front of you.

still wondering why they call it a "choke chain"? choke chains are desinged to "choke" your dog if they pull away from you while you are holding the lead. like a noose, they get tighter everytime a pull is being done. they will simply loosen if they dont pull. just make sure that the chain is properly worn around the dogs neck.

Well they told me it's not design to choke the dog...well like boofoo he keeps on pulling the leash even if he's choking already...when i cut his hair i found a couple of bruises...so i stop using it and use a diff kind of train collr...he's ok now though...so personally, i dont recommend using choke chain....it hurts my boofoo..huhuhu....thanks for the response JM appreciate it... have a nice day

actually. check chain talaga tawag dun. madaming training collar ang maganda katulad ng gentle leader collar, it's good for smallbreed dogs. para naman sa mga large and agressive breeds. may prong collar. haha nakakatakot yung prong collar. its a steel collar with prongs pointed to your dog's neck. para everytime na mag pull sila, masasaktan dahil sa prongs. pero kelangan talaga siya for really serious training or really agressive dogs. :D

In my opinion, PRONG Collar is MUCH SAFER to use than Choke collar.
They may look harmful but they're not. Studies showed that choke
collars can permanently damage your dogs neck if not used properly, but
not the case in using prong collars. I either use a regular flat-buckle
collar for puppies in training, and prong collars for young adults and
adult dogs in training.

For me dont use choke collar if you dont know how to use them properly because it really can damage your dogs neck if not used properly.
