Hi guys! Would like to share this dog cloth pattern I got for free from the web:

Get creative and original and try to make this vest for your own dogs! It's so much cheaper than buying ready made dog clothes. I measured the waistline of my dog, bought various cloths at the mall, gave the cloth pattern to our small neighborhood tailoring shop. Would you believe, she only charged me P30-75 for each dog vest! You can even recycle your old Tshirt, table cloth, pillow cases and just about any cloth scraps with nice designs. Our helper even made some for our dogs.

The best thing about this design is your dogs will be so comfortable wearing it because the front and hind legs can freely move. The neck won't be "choked" too since it is adjustable. It's very easy to wear because of the velcro. Check more photos below.

Instructions:

Step 1: Resizing the Pattern
If you downloaded the original
pattern instead of choosing your dog's chest size, you will first need
to resize the pattern to fit your dog. Measure your dog around the
largest part of his or her chest. After cutting the pattern on the fold
and opening it up, the width from the red X to the red X should be 4"
larger than your pet's chest.

If
you print the original pattern at 100%, it will fit a dog or puppy with
a 12" chest. At 85%, it would fit a pet with a 10" chest. 120%, it
would fit a dog with a 14 1/2 chest(you'll need a printer that prints
on 12" X 12" in order to make it this large). After printing, measure
it to make sure it's 4 inches larger than your dog's chest(from the red
X to the red X).

Step 2: Cutting the Pattern
Cut the pattern from fabric of
your choice, I used a plaid flannel fabric. You can make the vest
reversible by choosing two different fabrics. Cut 1(on fold) from each
of the 2 fabrics or cut 2(on fold) if you will be using one fabric
choice. Note: For extra padding, cut 1(on fold) from quilt batting.

After cutting, you will have 2 pieces that look like this when you unfold them.

Step 3: Sewing the Pattern
Place the 2 pieces right sides
together and sew them together along the dotted lines indicated on the
printable pattern. Use a 1/4 inch seam. If you are using batting, make
that the bottom layer and place the other 2 pieces on top, right sides
together.

Leave
the sides with the red X's open. Clip the corners, to your seam, where
you see the blue X's. You may also want to clip along the
neckline(highlighted in green).

Next, pull the vest through one
of the openings, so that it is right-side out. You will end up with raw
edges where you see the red X's above. Tuck the edges in about 1/4 inch
and sew them closed.

Step 4: Attaching the Velcro
The last step is to attach the
velcro. Attach the soft side of the velcro where you see the red X's
below. Then turn the vest over and attach the rough side where you the
blue X's.

You're done! Go try it on your pet!

Click Here to Download the Free Pattern

Click on the text above first, to save
the pattern to your computer. Do no print the pattern directly from the
web or it will turn out too small, instead save the pattern image to
your computer, then right click on the file name and press 'print' or
open the image in a graphics or photo editor and print it from there.
You should also be able to resize using that program.

If you think you'll have trouble with the first step, resizing the
pattern, choose your dog's chest size(measure around the largest part
of your dog's chest) below to download a pattern that is already
resized. If you will be making coats for more than one dog, in
different sizes, or a growing puppy, you might just want to download
the original pattern, using the download link above and resize it as
needed. The free pattern link above fits a 12" chest, average for a
small breed, and can be resized to any size.

8" chest   9" chest   10" chest   11" chest   12" chest    13" chest   14" chest    15" chest
Round off to the next size up if your dog is between sizes, unless it's off by less than 1/4 inch.

Note: You will need 12" X 12" paper and the ability to
print on paper this size if your dog's chest size is larger than 13" ,
otherwise the pattern will not fit on the page.

Getting the Chest Measurement:
(don't worry about the neck measurement)

Materials Needed:

measuring your dog's chest

1/2 yard fabric
Note: If
you will be using 2 different fabrics, to make a reversible vest, you
will need 2 fat quarters a regular 1/4 yard of fabric would not be wide
enough.

One 1-1/4 inch strip of sew-on velcro
Note: I don't recommend using buttons or snaps, your pup would probably try to chew on the ones across his or her chest area.

Thank you to http://sewing.circleofcrafters.com/ for the free patern! Here are some of the dog clothes submitted to that site. These are made by normal people like us. hehehe!
